Service Description

What We Help With (not exhaustive) Reactivity to dogs/people/bikes/cars Leash frustration and barrier aggression Fear, anxiety, and phobias (including noise & vet handling) Separation-related distress (home-alone training) Resource guarding (food, toys, spaces) Handling issues (grooming, nail trims, muzzle training) Puppy problem prevention & confidence building Multi-dog household conflict and new dog introductions Important: “Aggression” is a label for a group of behaviors. We focus on safety, management, and gradual behavior change—not quick fixes. Our Method: Clear, Kind, Consistent 1) Assessment & Safety Plan (Week 0) Pre-visit history form and videos (if possible). On-site/virtual assessment (75–90 min): ABC analysis (Antecedent–Behavior–Consequence), trigger mapping, risk review. Immediate management steps (gate/lead setup, safe zones, decompression, enrichment). Vet referral if pain, GI issues, skin, or hormonal factors are suspected. 2) Customized Behavior Plan Written plan with 1–3 priority goals, success metrics, and daily micro-tasks. Equipment list: well-fitted front-clip harness, long line, treat pouch, and optional basket muzzle (we teach this kindly). Environment setup: door protocols, window film, yard routines, visitor scripts. 3) Skill Building & Counterconditioning Desensitization and Counterconditioning (DS/CC) at the dog’s threshold. Pattern games, Look-At-That (LAT), Engage–Disengage, stationing/mat relax. Differential Reinforcement (DRA/DRI), Premack Principle, choice-based handling. 4) Real-Life Generalization Practice in the actual contexts you care about—beach walks, estate paths, cafés, market edges. Gradual trigger intensity stacking with planned exits and recovery windows. 5) Maintain & Prevent Relapse Tapered reinforcement plans, relapse triggers checklist, and “rainy-day” indoor enrichment. What Makes Us Different Humane tools only. Evidence-based methods, no intimidation or pain. Bilingual training. Build cue reliability in English and Italian (plus simple Swahili markers).
